Welcome to WatsonDIY.com
Hi! We're Anthony and Peggy, a newly retired couple who enjoys traveling, DIY projects, and more...

DIY Projects

DIY Videos I find satisfaction in doing things myself, whether it's woodworking, carpentry, landscaping, or a large home improvement project. I enjoy making things that meet my needs exactly that I could never find or afford in a retail store. On this site I try to document my projects with photos and how-to videos. I hope they provide you knowledge, inspiration, and perhaps a little encouragement to tackle DIY projects of your own.

Travel Videos

Travel VideosWe enjoy traveling whether it's out of the country, an overnight road trip, or even an outing to a local park for the day. I try to document as many of our trips and outings as I can. I hope you enjoy them and hopefully they will inspire your own getaways.
Mountain Software
Mountain Software is the software company I started back in 1992 and continue to work on part time today.

I got my first computer when I was in High School back in the late 1970's. It was an "Interact Model 1" and I learned to program on that computer in assembly code and BASIC. In the early 80's I bought an 8-bit Atari computer and started writing simple programs. I distributed these as shareware, mailing floppy discs to computer user groups and individual users. I still remember the thrill I got when someone sent me $10 for my first shareware program.

Our daughter was born in 1989 and my role switched from microwave repairman to a stay-at-home dad (commonly called Mr. Mom in those days). During those years I would often write computer programs while she took her naps.

In 1991 I wrote my first recipe program for the Atari 600XL computer and had it published as "The Antic Cookbook" in STart Magazine as a type-in application. I continued to develop the program and later distributed it as shareware under the name "The Atari Cookbook".

Later that year I upgraded to an Atari ST computer and rewrote my recipe software as "The Recipe Box". When sales picked up in 1992 I started my own software company Mountain Software. Following that limited success, I branched out to other computer platforms and released "The Mac Recipe Box" and "The Amiga Recipe Box" in 1993. I moved to the Windows platform in 1996 and released the first version of my Home Cookin Recipe Software. I slowly phased out the other computer systems and only work on Windows these days, except for some minor web development.

Hot Tub Plans

Hot Tub PlansWe had always wanted a hot tub but couldn't afford one. So I designed and built my own tub. I have plans available if you would like to build your own.
